We continue to be grateful to all the donors and well-wishers and to the Almighty God at large for this far we have made. Year 2019 was another exciting year in terms of the success of the project.
In the Education Support Programme we are glad to share with you that we had 18 Form 4 candidates who completed their High school Education. They passed well and awaiting to join institutes of higher learning. Among them we have Derrick Mandela who is awaiting to join University after getting a Mean-grade of B(+) in his KCSE examinations. Generally we had 2 B(+), 3 Bs, 3 B(-)s , 5Cs, 4D(+)s and 2 Ds. In KCPE, we had 11 KCPE candidates who scored very highly and in 2020 they joined good high schools. The most of our KCPE 2019 candidates attained above 350 marks.
Youth Empowerment Project also reported successes in its activities. First, the number of youths in the programme increased by 3 youths. The project supported 15 youths in various vocational training institutes. We are happy to report that the project was successful in its endeavors. The enrollment was as follows: 6 youths were trained in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, 5 youths trained in Catering course, 1 trained in Clothing Technology & Beauty, 1 trained in Hairdressing & Beauty, 1 in Electrical Engineering and another one in Plant Operations. All the Youths completed their training successfully. Those that undertook mechanics and hair dressing are self-employed now. The catering trainees are on 3 months internship awaiting formal employment. One Youth that undertook Plumbing Course is now happily employed in Nakuru County as a Plumber. We continue to Pride in our successes.
Under Relocation Programme, We are glad to note that with the help of our donors, a family of 7 to the rural areas of Kitui County. The family is happy and thankful to the donors and KTSSC Team for the kind gesture.
The year 2018 fue el más emocionante, teníamos dos resultados primarios y secundarios Examen Nacional. A partir del número actual de beneficiarios, 19 fuera de 112 apoyada por KenToledo Servicio Social Club, completado sus niveles de educación primaria y secundaria.
Out of the 19 casos, 11 boys and girls completed their Primary Education and passed well. This year they joined good National and County Schools. Those that topped the list include:
- Linet Kabira scored 418 marks out 500 marks. She has successfully joined Loreto Girls high School which is a national school and one of best performing schools in Kenya.
- Lesley Lotsove scored 398 marks and has joined Kisumu Girls national School.
- Lucky Baraka topped our boys list by scoring 397 marks and he has joined Agoro Sare National School.
The remaining 8 cases have joined good County Schools. Among them : Bernard Kimemia, Elizabeth Moraa, Monicah Akinyi, Erick Mutuku, Simon Mutinda Makau, Stephen Omondi, Joakim Onyisa and Shadrack Mwangangi.
Eight Students completed their High school education and performed well. Among them is John Njoroge who scored a Mean Grade of B+, Bernard Muinde and Daina Waithera scored a Mean Grade of C+. They are expected to join university for higher education.
The remaining 5 will be joining Vocational and Technical Training Colleges this year. These include: Abraham Mutuku, Beth Kavindu, Tizan Ochieng, Samuel Njuguna and Joseph Ndambuki.
Last December two of our University students graduated from the Nairobi University. these include
1. Mary Mukami graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Literature.
2. Peter Theuri graduated with A Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy & International Relations.
ONGOING PROJECT PROGRESS
Year 2019 begun on a high note with our relocation programme. We started building a house in Kitui to Relocate a family of 6 and a single mother who have been raised in a small mud and old iron sheet room in the heart of Mathare. the project is ongoing
